Mentat Mix 7 is here, a mix of deep and melodic techno and house featuring tracks from Radio Slave, Robert Babicz, ROWA, Koelle and Barry Jamieson.
The mix kicks off with the mesmerising Radio Slave remix of Charlotte Gainsbourg, building into Eagles & Butterflies trippy synths. Henry Saiz and Lindstrom take thinkings in a spacey, disco influenced direction before Andim and Högni’s new vocal track brings things a bit deeper. Joris Voon’s mix of Robert Babicz ‘Dark Flowers’ builds on this deeper sound before a classic from Nicolas Bougaïeff (you might remember from Maceo Plex’s stunning Boiler Room session). A track from ROWA’s new EP shifts the melodies up a gear, with Koelle’s ‘Flowers of Darkness’ following this up with some of the sublime chords he’s well known for. To close of the mix I dug out a couple of older tracks, the epic ‘303’s In Love’ from Sasha collaborator Barry Jamieson, and the yearning, leftfield melodies of George Fitzgerald’s Remix of Lil Silva.
